Kallyr Starbrow: HQ stats

Rate of change

Kallyr's HQ stats were published for the year 1622 in Orlanth is Dead, and for 1624 in "Gathering Thunder". In both cases, these may be regarded as "short-hand" stats, concentrating on keywords and the specific skills relevant to those scenarios. Her actual detailed character sheet would, I'm sure, be a small book. After all, this is the equivalent of a PC who's been playing a scenario a game-week for twenty game-years. (that's 42*20=840) Lots of HPs earnt and spent (say 5 per scenario, 4200, and I think I'm underestimating things there). Mainly on Relationships, I suspect.

The Whitewall Group needs her stats for 1619: and I'd be quite interested in earlier years, too. So let's start with a comparison.

So over two years, several of Kallyr's abilities have gone up by about 5 points (total of 35) The translation from HW to HQ has perhaps confused her CC rating, and her shifting her primary initiation from Dar to Rigsdal has undoubtedly confused her affinity levels.

In the same period, her followers seem to have increased most of their abilities and keywords by about 2 points (totals of 9,11,2,5) Maybe they aren't earning HP as fast as her. More likely, to my mind, they're burning almost all their HP on keeping her out of trouble :)

It would seem a fair guess to me that roughly the same level of change would occur between 1619 and 1622.


Affinities and other Magic

Kallyr is of course "only" an initiate, but with affinity ratings that high, who cares about a -5? She can therefore improvise the "standard" feats from each affinity. Since we know her Starbrow (7W2 rating) gives her an augment to all Rigsdal magic, personally I'd use that to give her access to the other Rigsdal affinities that she doesn't have herself. Maybe at a hefty negative modifier, but even at -20, that's still 7W. Useful. I mean, if she can't do Rigsdal magic, who can??? And of course she almost certainly has some extra stand-alone feats. We have evidence for one in "Gathering Thunder", and I have my suspicions about a few more.
